On 24 October 2015, a group of us participated in the National Open Data Quest hosted by Code4SA, Geekulcha, the Innovation Hub and htxt.africa. The aim of the event is to take a South African open dataset, and to create a visualisation and story to showcasing datasets.
We took the 2013-2014 protest data set from Code4SA and used Esri Story Maps to show the intensity of protests in South Africa. And also the various types of protest that occur throughout the SA landscape. You can have a look at our story map here, South African, Protest Capital of the World.
